- The ‘special’ tone on Nokia phones while receiving SMS messages is actually Morse code for ‘SMS’. For all of you out there who don’t know what is morse code. Here it is briefly explained- “Morse code” is method of sending text messages by keying in a series of electronic pulses. It is usually represented as a short pulse ( called a “dot”) and a long pulse (a “dash”).
