Realme X2 Initial Impressions
Realme X2 Initial Impressions
Realme seems to be bit boggling about its newlylaunched smartphone. The proposed name is quite differentwith what it entails. With the release of this device, Realme has directly aimed at Redmi Note 8 Pro.We have spend some time with a pre-release unit of the Realme X2 and here are our Initial Impressions :
First of all, let us see what do we get into the box :
- Clear case and documentation.
- Handset
- 30w Vooc charger 4.0 along with Type-c cable.
- Sim ejector tool.
Key specifications :
- Performance : Snapdragon 730G.
- Camera : 64+8+2+2 MP.
- Storage : 64 GB and 128 GB.
- Battery : 4000 mAh.
- Display : 6.4 inches.
- Ram : 4,6 and 8 GB.
Lets sneak into the detail features of the Realme X2.
- Design :
- The back panel of Realme X2 is a perfect replica of Realme XT. It consists of glass body with glossy finish back.
- The green colour looks polarised and the choice varies upon person to person.
- The slight curve in the back panel gives a handy comfort to hold up the device.
- The phone comes with Gorilla glass 5 protection.
- We get to see a colourful power button and volume rockers on the left side of the phone. The buttons look sturdy and tactile.
- We have checked triple slot, type-c and support of widevine L1.
- It supports Dolby Atmos and strangely the output of speakers and headphone jack performs average. Loudness is highly missing in this smartphone.
- It has all the sensors in it. But the NFC is neglected is the Indian variant which was present in the china variant.
- The fingerprint sensor works exceptionally good and the face unlock does the exact job.
- Display :
- The phone comes with a 6.4 inches full HD resolution Amoled display.
- The bezzels are quite indigent and a dew drop notch can be seen at the top of the phone.
- The chin portion is evenly distributed and proportionally thin.
- The colours of the display comes out naturally to the eyes and the viewing angles are just phenomenal.
- The dark mode in this smartphone is not that deeper dark as compared to OnePlus devices. It shows little scattering grayish black colour which can be the facing issue for the battery department of this phone.
- One missing factor to see is the absence of Always on display or any LED notification light on this phone. This means you donot have any indication to receive the notifications.
- Camera :
- Realme X2 packs with a rear quad camera 64+8+2+2 MP. The main camera is a 64 MP camera, 8 MP is an ultra wide angle lens to take ultra wide shots, other 2 MP can be used to take Macro shots and another 2MP is a depth sensor. The image processing and dynamic range of the shots taken are just mind boggling. As usual, The skin tone looks fantastic in the pictures.
- We took some macro shots, it does the job neat to use.
- The front camera consists of 32MP. We have taken various shots in artificial and low light conditions. The edge detection in portrait mode works supreme and ultimate.
- The night mode of this phone in the camera section works brilliantly. We didn’t face any noise in the pictures.
- Though the image quality is extremely good but the video compartment does a slightreverse job. However the video comes out stable but it creates the whole video zoomed-in which can be quite annoying for the users.
- A fresh feature to notice is the video Bokeh, which helps to blur the background and not the subject. It works out as topsy Turvy and are not that reliable.
- Performance :
- The phone is powered with latestSnapdragon 730G chipset.
- The phone comes in three storage and ram variants such as 4GB ram and 64GB of storage,6GB ram and 64GB of storage and 8GB ram and 128GB of storage.
- The performance of storagespeed test shows the above average results.
- The Phone comes with color OS 6.1 based on android 9 pie.
- As we start to use the phone, we noticed some lags to run the apps.We run some apps and it completely freeze down the apps. Wehad to force restart the phone. The reason can be related to optimization asOS might not be optimised with the latest Snapdragon 730G chipset.
- The app load time works out fast where as the gaming performance with higher settings makes the gaming experience better and better.
- Battery :
- The Realme X2 bundle with 4000 mAh battery capacity.
- The phone serves with charging technology of 30w Vooc flash 4.0.
- The color OS has many battery optimisation features which helps to retain the battery longer than usual.
Conclusion :
Our final verdict about this phone needs more time with this device. Shortly, we can say that this is just another phone from the Realme with nothing that much intersting. If you want to upgrade your phone then just wait for some other devices to come. There are plenty of other smartphones to look for than this common piece from Realme.
